About

Educational Video Publishing (EdVid) began in 1994 with a joint venture with the American Montessori Society to coproduce a 3-6 parent orientation video.  That video (now a DVD) has sold over 1500 copies and was updated in 2002.  EdVid and AMS continued to collaborate in producing DVDs for each of the age groups from infant/toddler through middle school.  For the 100th anniversary of Montessori’s 2007, AMS and EdVid collaborated on the production of Educating for Peace: The Essence of Montessori.

Educational Video Publishing (Edvid) has also produced a number of popular DVDs for parent and staff education in partnership with leading Montessorians. An Introduction to the Montessori Math Curriculum follows the development of the math curriculum from the concrete materials in 3-6 through the increasingly abstract materials in the elementary grades. Also for parents is the overview of the five early childhood curriculum areas in An Introduction to Montessori Philosophy and Materials (Also included as part of the High Performance Montessori Assistant).

On the staff development side, Edvid produced The High Performance Montessori Assistant Multimedia Package for training 3-6 assistants. In 2009, a second assistant training package, Infant Toddler Assistant Training, was released.

Edvid is in the process of updating the original American Montessori Society DVDs and has recently released Montessori Middle School for the 21st Century.  Also new is Preparation for Life: Montessori Infant-Toddler Communities.
